Fox's on-the-lam drama calling it quits after current fourth season; Prison Break begins home stretch April 17. (From www.tv.com)
Prison Break fans, there's really no easy way to say this so we'll just take a very direct approach: Prison Break is coming to an end...soon; Fox today announced the series will be ending at the conclusion of this season.
The news probably isn't a huge shock to anyone who has been following the series recently. Late last year, speculators thought the show would be coming to an end when Fox tacked on a few extra hours to this year's production schedule. And with heavy promotion for Fringe, 24, and Lie to Me in full swing, it isn't hard to see who the odd man out is.
Prison Break is currently on a little vacation, as Fox beefs up its midseason schedule with the aforementioned trio and a little program called American Idol. However, Fox did schedule a return for the final episodes of Prison Break--they begin their run April 17.
According to TVGuide.com, Fox president Kevin Reilly explained, "[Prison Break] got to a point where a lot of the stories had been told," which is a kind way to say the show was running on fumes creatively. At least six hours of the drama are left to go, with the possibility of a few more hours added as Reilly said he wants the program to "finish strong."
Before fans organize a save-the-show campaign complete with an assault of freshly shaven hair and teabags, consider this: Prison Break was originally conceived as a one-season show or mini-series, but instead was stretched out to four full seasons. That's some glass-is-half-full thinking right there.
Well Prison Breakers, do you agree with Fox's Reilly? Did the show run out of gas? Who will you miss most when the screen goes dark?

Is Prison Break nearing its end? (From TV.com)
Report says Fox's Prison Break is adding two hours to this season; some say it's to end the series.
Well, Prison Break fans, I have some good news and some bad news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, cast and production members from Prison Break have been told by Fox that they may be filming an additional two episodes this season (yay!), but it may come with a huge catch.
I hope you have some salt near you, because you may want to take a grain of it when you read this next sentence. The Hollywood Reporter says that those extra two episodes may serve as a series finale...yep, a series finale (their idea, not mine!).
The idea behind the logic starts with Prison Break's ratings, which are down, but also includes the fact that Prison Break was not placed on Fox's recent midseason schedule (House and 24 will be moving to Mondays, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was ostracized to Fridays). Prison Break is routinely one of those shows that is on the bubble when it comes time to cancel shows, but its ardent fan base has kept it afloat.
However, the two episodes could serve as a non-series-ending "event" (like 24: Redemption) that would air later, or could be DVD extras. It's all quite confusing at this point.
Again, this is all conjecture at the moment, but I thought you Prison Break maniacs might like to know.

Prisonr Break Season 4 (9/1)
Ah, how I love press tours because it always gives us the dirt on our favorite shows that we’ve been waiting for. The TCAs (Television Critics Assocation) are in full swing and the major players from FOX’s Prison Break were on hand yesterday to share some new details about season 4. Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, and Sarah Wayne Callies sat down from some brunch and answered questions about what critics and fans alike could expect when Prison Break returns in September. They dished on everything from MiSa’s relationship to the new and improved A-Team to where Michael Scofield’s head is at after everything he’s been through.
Your Take
Sarah Wayne Callies didn’t waste any time letting the critics know when viewers would find out what happened to her character, Dr. Sara Tancredi last season. She said that Prison Break would address, right away, her “death” and how she managed to make it out of The Company’s grasp in one piece. Just because she and Michael are reunited, though, doesn’t mean that it’s going to be smooth sailing. "People forget that Michael and Sara really don't know each other," she said. "This whole new series started six months ago, and so I think there's a lot of 'Oh, you like grapefruit? I didn't know that, but I know I love you.'"
"It's the A-Team 2008!" Wentworth said of season 4. "We are seven guys with very different agendas who are forced to work together." The New York Post speculated that Sara was part of the seven but I think I’ve got it right when I call it as being: Michael, Lincoln, LJ, Sucre, Mahone, T-Bag, and Bellick. Let’s assume that after what she’s been through, Michael will do everything in his power to keep Sara out of harm’s way.
Miller went on to talk about his character, Michael Scofield, who is constantly evolving as the show continues on. "I felt like Michael was at his best in Season One. He had a clear sense of purpose," Miller said. "And then in Season Two, the character kind of spun out. And then when we were back inside in Season Three, he had that sense of purpose again." He finished up explaining Michael by saying that in season 4, he’s got his stuff together. “This time we're being pro-active instead of reactive. He has a mission." Prison Break returns with a 2 hour season premiere on Labor Day.

The Seven Degrees of Wentworth Miller
Who doesn’t love a game of The Seven Degrees of Wentworth Miller? I’m going to start this one off with linking former soap star Justin Bruening to Wentworth Miller. This is a VERY convoluted way to do it, I’m sure you can do much better :)
1. So, to start us off … Justin Bruening stars as Mike in the new Knight Rider. And did you know that Val Kilmer is the voice of Kitt?
2. Playing the role of Elvis the mentor, Val Kilmer starred in True Romance (1993) with Patricia Arquette in True Romance.
3. Everyone knows that Patricia Arquette is the sister-in-law of Courtney Cox and how fun that they sometimes do family outings together!
4. Kind of obvious, but Courtney Cox starred on Friends, where Hugh Laurie once made a guest appearance.
5. Keeping up with his press tour, Hugh Laurie once appeared on the talk show Ellen, who on a different day chatted with Kate Walsh.
6. Everyone’s favorite obgyn, Kate Walsh stars on Private Practice with Paul Adelstein.
7. Drumroll please … and of course Paul Adelstein starred with good ole Wentworth on Prison Break.
Whew! Okay, that was more like eight or ten degrees of separation!
